New Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride Opens at Universal Orlando Resort

On July 2nd, 2012, with the help of Gru, his daughters and the minions, Universal Orlando celebrated the grand opening of Universal Orlando Resort’s brand new ride, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, and it was spectacular!

Some of the actors from the film were even here – Miranda Cosgrove (Margo), Dana Gaier (Edith) and Elsie Fisher (Agnes) joined in the festivities!

Thanks to Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, the minions are taking over Orlando!

Based on the blockbuster film, the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride provides guests with an incredibly original adventure: a new story line, a new adventure, special 3D effects, and the heart-warming and hilarious characters from the Despicable Me film!

This one of a kind experience is only available at Universal Orlando Resort!

Guests will find all of their favorite characters from the Despicable Me film, including Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes – and they are all voiced by their original actors!

The ride begins with guests entering through the towering facade of Gru’s house, pick up 3D “minion goggles” and get scanned for human germs in Gru’s Minionization Prep Room. How cute is that? Once guests have gone through Minionization Prep, they are turned into Minions to help assist Gru on his next big project.

And that’s where the fun really begins!

Guests go on a wild ride where they evade water sprayers, giant flyswatters, anti-gravity rooms and more!

There is something for every guest and every family – between the heartwarming family story, hysterical minions, and the disco-inspired dance party, the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride is sure to please everyone!

The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride’s grand opening caps Universal Orlando’s Year to Be Here, in which Universal debuted more new entertainment experiences across its entire destination than in any other year in history.

What are you waiting for? Go check it out!
